DOUCE MIRABAUD |
: LAND ART |
|
Douce Mirabaud - land artist from Paris
My work is built with what I gleaned in the forest, to the strains of animal bones, assemble them solids putrefaction or imperishable. Some recover waste to transform them. This path also leads me to build more then created monumental installations outside transfiguring space and starting from the same principle. Matter of sculpture uses the in situ vegetation.

At the South point of Papay near Vest Ness, to where not many hickers are venturing, lays one of many and the most recent shipwreck of Papay. The remains of the ferroconcrete body of the ship were brought to live by Douce Mirabaud.
During her 3 weeks art residency at Papey Listskjul Douce Mirabaud was working with plants of the island and we learned a lot about the docks and sorrels /genus Rumex/ and the docks uses! : to wrap butter, to dye leather, to cure nettles stings and it's edible and even known in some places as monk's rhubarb.
Tannin of the docks connected with the rusted metal of ferroconcrete of the shipwreck giving to it new branches. Or wings
Objects collected during the summer in Papay were taken to Paris and in February they're coming back to Papay transformed into new works |
